Global Service Resources is seeking to obtain the services of a WordPress DevOps Specialist to assist Los Angeles County ISD with a new WordPress hosting and professional services business.

*12 Month Contract in Downey, CA*

*Full Time*

*Pay is negotiable*

*Will require some travel if needed. Mileage and Gas not reimbursed. You must factor that into your hourly rate expectation*

Background Information:

ISD is developing a services model that will help to sustain current business and meet future growth. In 2015, ISD initiated the transition to Open Source web technologies by hosting the ISD WordPress website on a LAMP server.

In February 2016, ISD launched the Los Angeles County WordPress intranet on a premise Red Hat OpenShift Platform as a Service (PaaS). ISD is now hosting over forty (40) WordPress websites and it is estimated to grow to sixty (60) websites by the end of 2018.

The WordPress DevOps engineer will interface with other ISD support groups (infrastructure, networking, security, and help desk) for platform hosting services. ISD will be rolling out a WordPress support subscription in addition to providing professional services for website development. The team in many cases will work with department executives and managers and as representatives of ISD must carry themselves with the utmost professionalism. This line of business requires that the team is available 24/7, on weekends and holidays if needed. After hour support can be done remotely or may need to be done on premise if required by the project manager or section manager.

Description of Work:

Must have strong front-end experience using WordPress and moderate full stack experience.

You will be expected to be able to:

1. Design and develop WordPress websites. 2. Create custom WordPress themes and plug-ins. 3. Install and modify vendor bought themes and plug-ins. 4. Assist with SEO and WCAG 2.0 website compliance. 5. Assist with creating website analytics reports. 6. Create PHP and Node.js applications.7. Support and maintain multiple websites and be responsible for upgrading and patching WordPress core, themes and plugins. 8. Troubleshoot WordPress, application, and server issues. 9. Administration of WordPress, PHP, Apache, and MySQL. 10.Create and operate a website and application security hardening and security vulnerability remediation process. 11.Load test websites and tune WordPress, Apache, PHP, and MySQL 12.Produce specifications, design documents, and other product documentation 13.Support hybrid mobile apps. 14.Automate the website onboarding process and operational workflows using the County’s standard tools. The County's standard tool set consists of OpenShift, WordPress, MySQL, PHP, Apache, Varnish, Jenkins, Acunetix security scan, Jmeter, DynaTrace, Git, and BitBucket. 15.Participate in team meetings and huddles to help advance the County's collaborative work culture. The consultant will help to improve customer service, collaboration, quality, and speed to market by practicing DevOps and agile methodologies. 16.Meet with customers to gather requirements, conduct demos, and speak at User Group meetings. 17.Consult with management on new business opportunities. 18.On call for after hour support. 19.Work on weekends and holidays if needed.

Minimum Qualification:

You MUST meet all of the following:

1. Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years creating and enhancing theme designs. 2. Five (5) years of experience within the last seven (7) years performing all of the following: a. Building and customizing WordPress websites, themes and plugins. b. Building desktop, responsive, and mobile websites. c. Client side scripting using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and jQuery. 3. Two (2) years within the last (5) years making websites SEO and WCAG 2.0 compliant. 4. Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years writing regular expressions for URL rewrites and redirects. 5. Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years optimizing WordPress websites using tools such as Google developer tools, Lighthouse, AppDynamics or DynaTrace. 6. Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years remediating WordPress theme and plugin security vulnerabilities. 7. Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years administering a 300,000 page views or more per month WordPress website.8. Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years working in a LAMP environment. 9. Two (2) years of performance experience within the last five (5) years tuning WordPress, PHP, Apache and MySQL and scripting and running load tests using Jmeter or other load testing tools. 10. Five (3) years of experience within the last seven (5) years programming in PHP and using GIT. 11. Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years giving oral presentations to clients in English in the United States. Provide a copy of one (1) presentation with submission. 12. Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years writing documentation in English for United States clients. Provide a copy of two (2) written technical documentation with submission
