The LTL Logistics Executive is primarily responsible for selling LTL services to businesses and ensuring the delivery of every load with the up-most satisfaction, no matter the situation.

Essential Tasks:
  • Positively exhibit and adhere to The JEAR Way
  • Serve as the primary contact between LTL customers with all their transportation needs and freight carriers that handle transportation of customers products.
  • Cold calling and prospecting every day. You have the freedom to design a book of business to your interests and creatively sell and pitch yourself to new customers.
  • Providing quotes on lanes for customers based on current market rates. Expert negotiators, we want you!
  • Maintaining constant communication with customers and carriers to ensure quality service.
  • Establishing accounts for repeat business and working for referral business.
  • Resolving customer and carrier issues quickly and efficiently.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Education & Knowledge:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalence Certificate. Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Sales and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Preferred Experience:
  • One to three years of similar or related experience within sales or the transportation industry

  • Work Ethic - Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to building a book of business.
  • Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively, ability to handle the tough conversation and reset expectations when needed, all while keeping customers and carriers calm.
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Multi-tasking - Ability to handle multiple functions and priorities.

  • Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Negotiation - Providing quotes and reconcile differences.
  • Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help people and ability to work cooperatively with all levels of management and staff within JEAR, along with customers and carriers.
  • Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
