Job Description

Evaluates operations of assigned Practice including patient flow, turnaround of rooms, scheduling and patient scheduling.


Evaluates and provides implementation plan for improving operations, efficiency and cost effectiveness to Administrator.


Ensures Staff performs assigned functions effectively.


Ensures Staff follows all established health and safety policies of the office as well as all OSHA and CLIA regulations.


Oversees staffing and scheduling of clinical personnel in assigned practices on a daily basis.


Ensures staff is knowledgeable and competent to perform duties


Provides, coordinates, oversees orientation/training, continuing education as per polices and records.


Ensures Staff follows all established health and safety policies of the office as well as all OSHA and CLIA regulations.


Oversees the scheduling and confirmation of appointments according to established office procedures including precertifications and typing orders.


Researches and resolves all insurance related problems.


Monitors patient’s condition, as directed by the physician, during all medical/surgical procedures. Immediately reports any change in condition to physician.


Oversees preparation of patient and room for exam, instructing patient which articles of clothing should be removed and providing them with appropriate gowns, etc.


Oversees laboratory procedures and records test results as instructed by physician. Validates any questionable results by repeating the test and alerting the physician.


Informs physician immediately of patient test results that are in the “panic range” and/or abnormal results.


Oversees venipuncture, administers injections, administers oral medications, performs other clinical testing i.e bladder scans, PVRs, urodynes, uroflowmetry, cystoscopy, biopsies, voiding trials, etc.) As instructed by the physician and in accordance with AMA recommended procedures, blood borne pathogen policies, OSHA regulations, CLIA regulations and all other established policies and procedures, if clinical.


Performs and analyzes quality controls and records results according to office’s established procedures.


Performs instrument maintenance as described in the instrument manuals.


Triages patient calls, collecting pertinent information.


Ensures Staff collects and records referrals, co-pays and outstanding patient balances at the time of service and that charges are posted with assigned time.


Ensure billing data is entered accurately, consulting with the


Physicians and the Administrator regarding ICD-9 and CPT codes as appropriate. In surgical practices, ensures the accuracy of surgery pre-certification and billing.


Participates in revising, developing, approving, communicating and implementing policies and procedures.


Ensures heat, air conditioning, telephones, and utilities are in good working condition and reports to Administrator.


Ensures accuracy of reconciliation process and proper bank deposit procedures.


Assists Administrators in reviewing and controlling Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and overall cost containment of Practice expenses. Evidenced by practice compliance with budgetary guidelines.


Gathers data and assists in submitting necessary credentialing information as required participating in managed care contracts
