Maintenance Planner & FLS Relief

AdvanSix, Inc located in Chesterfield, Virginia has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Planner & FLS Relief. Thisposition will be planning and scheduling maintenanceactivities for the Chesterfield facility. This is a fast-paced maintenancedepartment and a very dynamic working environment.


* Create work orders from notifications in SAPfor all work in your designated areas of the plant

* Review and confirm proper notificationpriorities in SAP, working with Maintenance Coordinators

* Develop detailed job task lists and cost/timeestimates for work orders

* Plan routine, PM, outage, and small capitalwork orders

* Utilize T-7 scheduling methodology incoordination with input from area sub-teams to develop a seven-week look aheadschedule and detailed weekly work schedule

* Procure tools, materials, equipment, andoutside services as required for all Maintenance work in your areas; includesentering purchase requisitions for these items in SAP

* Walk down all maintenance work orders two weeksprior to execution with the Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor toensure that all parts, shared services, and safety issues have been addressedprior to scheduling the work

* Maintain planned backlog of work includesupdating job plans and closing completed work orders

* Audit and update shop papers and workinstructions for planned and scheduled jobs

* Perform kitting for planned work (routine andoutage)

* Kit backlog maintenance work for utilization asfill-in work

* Participate in Maintenance Sub-Team meetings,working with other planners, Maintenance Coordinators, Supervisors, UnitLeaders, Execution Leader, and Engineers to prioritize work, prepare schedules,and manage costs

* Participate in daily update meeting to ensurecommunication with the Operations and Maintenance on daily activities, the nextday's activities, and the status of any new Priority 1 and 2 notifications

* Track schedule efficiency, schedule attainment,and schedule loading through the utilization of the schedule compliance reportin SAP

* Manage goods receipts and invoices

* Understand and explain variances betweenforecast and actual costs

* Provide oversight of contractors and vendorsworking in assigned areas

* Manage contractor and vendor documentation,invoices, and goods receipts

* Maintain accurate and updated Bills of Material(BOM) and equipment records in SAP and hard-copy files

* Ensure critical spare parts are ordered andavailable for all planned work

* Identify and request capital projects toreplace spare parts as needed

* Work with Reliability Engineers to supportreliability based maintenance programs to minimize machine downtime

* Provide relief planner coverage for vacationsand training in other areas of the plant

* Provide relief supervisor coverage forvacations, training, outages, and as requested by management

* Facilitate positive change in the Maintenanceorganization by proactively driving department initiatives such as SAPenhancements, Planning and Scheduling improvements, Maintenance cost and plantdowntime reduction projects, etc.

* Perform other assigned duties as requested tosupport Maintenance and plant operations

Basic Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED

* 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrialmanufacturing environment

* 2 years of experience working with SAP ormaintenance work order processing system


* BS or AS degree in Engineering Technology or aJourneyman Craftsman Certification (such as machinist, pipefitter, welder,electrician) preferred

* 5 years of experience in maintenance planningin a chemical industrial or manufacturing environment preferred

* Demonstrated ability to incorporate safety intofoundations of work activities

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Strong leadership skills

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively withindividuals at all levels of an organization

* Demonstrated ability to use influencing skillsto accomplish goals and objectives

* Able to manage multiple priorities

* Knowledgeable in repair techniques for a broadapplication of electrical and instrumentation equipment

* Demonstrated ability to work in a teamenvironment

* Demonstrated ability in the use of maintenancework processes

* Ability to drive improvement in LEAN managementprocesses

* Experience in the use of IT tools to forecastand monitor key maintenance metrics (e.g. work hours and task progression)

* High level of computer skills in the processingof information in particular Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, ProjectManagement, PowerPoint, and Access preferred

* Experience and competency in the use of SAP forplanning activities preferred

* Knowledge of basic maintenance crafts includingelectrical, instrumentation, pipe fitting, shop machinists, welding,insulation, painting, field machinists, auto mechanics, HVAC, and carpenterspreferred
