We are seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer, with an Electrical Engineering emphasis who can perform a wide range of electrical/electronic related tasks. This role is part of the Manufacturing Engineering team responsible for operations engineering support and new product introduction activities. Our team supports efforts to resolve product and/or process technical issues impacting product quality and delivery of liquid handling instruments. This individual will be part of a highly engaged team passionate about bringing the highest quality and performance to our customers.
The right candidate will be responsible for the following:
+ Solving complex issues in a production environment through structured problem solving that meets quality and production goals while adhering to company policies, procedures and compliance standards.
+ Resolve optimal manufacturing methods and processes for producing company products from start-up, building the product line, through satisfactory production.
+ Lead electrical design changes to ensure a manufacturable and sustainable product while maintaining component and/or PCB functionality.
+ Develop manufacturing test protocols and automated test solutions to validate performance and operation of PCBAs, Electronic assemblies and electro-mechanical systems.
+ Drive engineering change order activities and release documentation.
+ Coordinate design change plans cross-functionally with planning, purchasing, supplier quality, compliance and manufacturing teams to ensure production is uninterrupted.
+ Establishes action plans and leads reviews to assess project status and minimize risks.
+ Drive improvement to product cost, quality and performance by utilizing Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies
The following are the qualifications for this position.
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
+ 7+ years proven experience in a manufacturing engineering environment including process and design development/knowledge of cables assemblies, PCBs, power distribution, embedded software, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
+ Experience with cable assembly designs that are used for data communication and power transmission for analog and digital signals and motor driven stage assemblies.
+ Ability to communicate design intent, risks, risk mitigations and impact through FMEAs.
+ Proficient with SolidWorks, ACAD, ECAD tools, Python, C#, SQL and LabVIEW programming.
+ Experience with analog and RF circuit design, testing and analysis preferred.
+ Understanding of statistical process control, GR&R and other 6-sigma and lean manufacturing tools is a plus
+ Proficient with JMP statistical software is a plus
