Job Overview


The Manufacturing Manager is primarily responsible for leading plant operations, utilizing World Class Manufacturing principles to achieve production and cost targets. The Manufacturing Manager will drive a culture and processes that promote continuous improvement in safety, quality and cost. This position will work with senior management in the plant to maximize overall quality and efficiency through involvement of the workforce. The Manufacturing Manager will oversee all personnel in the facility including Maintenance, Quality and Engineering personnel, including both hourly and salary.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

+ Mobilize teams to achieve build requirements

+ Drive implementation of WCM projects in business units

+ Review daily expenditures and follow up on anomalies

+ Track performance to Operating Plan and attack variance to plan

+ Review and authorize labor and overtime allocations

+ Lead BUL’s in establishing KAI alignment with KPI’s (SA, QC, WO, AM, PM)

+ Monitor departmental KPI attainment and establish PDCA as required

+ Ensure R/R’s are understood and implemented for BUL, UL, TL

+ Manage allocation of resources to support WCM project completion

+ Coordinate project plans with maintenance and engineering organizations

+ Monitor launch curve attainment for new programs and establish PDCA as needed

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree required

+ Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

+ Must have a strong working knowledge of machining, assembly, quality and logistics operations

+ Strong knowledge of WCM, manufacturing operation processes, quality systems, throughput, standardization, product/process launch

+ Ability to effectively lead a diverse workforce; teach, coach and mentor employees to go above and beyond required operational and business objectives

+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop the best teams while holding themselves and others accountable

+ Ability to manage and coordinate complex projects while maintaining simplistic communications to others

+ Must be able to make tough calls quickly and decisively while maintaining a high level of integrity

+ Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

+ Lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualification:

+ Advanced degree

+ Automotive experience

+ 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment
