**How will you make an impact**


This role supports the new Rapid Diagnostics Solutions (RDS) business unit in San Diego, California, part of the group of diagnostics businesses at Thermo Fisher Scientific. We are focused on increasing access to affordable innovations in diagnostic testing and enabling data-driven decisions. **What will you do**


The Supervisor, Manufacturing is responsible for directly supervising manufacturing personnel to maximize quality and output in the manufacturing operation. Accountable for aligning all manufacturing departments to achieve business goals. This position is responsible for performance management of direct and indirect reports. Participates in day-to-day operations with responsibilities for manufacturing products meeting output goals, with minimum costs, consistent with quality specifications, accurate inventory forecasts, and labor standards.


+ Regularly communicate with Leadership to understand company priorities for the delivery of tests kits to our clients


+ Adhere to the OSHA safety code and company policies


+ Work directly with QA personnel to obtain and maintain ISO 13485 and cGMP certification


+ Lead regular team meeting to discuss business and production status.


+ Develop capacity plan to support production requirements


+ Participate and lead internal and external audits


+ Create goals, objectives, and development plans for direct reports, deliver feedback, and monitor performance

**How will you get there**


**Education**


+ High School diploma


**Experience**


+ 5 years of experience in an in-vitro diagnostic industrial setting or manufacturing industry preferred


+ Experience working in FDA and ISO 13485 regulated company preferred


+ Manufacturing Engineering experience and cGMP and/or CLIA laboratory experience preferred


**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**


+ Ability to read, write, and speak English


+ Strong written and oral communication skills


+ Demonstrates leadership competencies and ability to lead and direct both direct and indirect employees to meet production schedules


+ Direct knowledge of manufacturing processes


+ Supervision and development of technical personnel


+ Thorough knowledge of cGMP requirements to ensure adherence to compliance policies and regulations preferred


+ Through knowledge of ISO 13485 regulations and certification preferred
