The Mechanical Engineer develops, designs, builds, tests, and inspects mechanical devices and systems. They will also work on continuous improvement initiatives that result in improved safety, quality, delivery and production efficiencies within the Production and Warehousing operations. The Mechanical Engineer will also support the 3D-filament activity of ARMOR-IIMAK USA, by providing expertise in design, material properties and prototypes for 3D applications. Collaboration with contractors to ensure project timeline and budget are met will also be part of the Mechanical Engineers responsibilities.
Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs and prototypes for new equipment:
+ Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs.
+ Generate working prototypes for testing.
+ Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
+ Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.
+ Collaborate with multi-disciplinary departments, and work with contractors.
+ Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
+ Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget.
+ Creates and maintains a system for standardizing work, documenting processes, confirming quality for all areas of focus and properly integrating all plant team members into Armor’s continuous improvement culture.
+ Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement methods, and elimination of wasteful practices.
+ Training of appropriate personnel on new processes and equipment.
+ Supports visual management, 6S and lean manufacturing waste initiatives.
+ Identifies and leads continuous improvement / Kaizen projects
+ Continuously look for improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining or improving safety
Safety & Environmental
+ Follows procedures to ensure the plant is clean, safe and secure at all times.
+ Performs risk analysis related to all production and logistics operations and the integration of external contractors.
+ Bachelor's Degree fin Mechanical Engineering, or other related Engineering discipline
+ 3-6 years experience
+ Strong computer and software programs
+ 3D CAD drawing software
+ Strong familiarity with MS Excel
+ Mechanical Design experience preferred
+ Manufacturing/Production experience preferred
