The Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division of Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector seeks team members who want to solve interesting, complex problems which protect our nation. We are a trusted mission payload and ground system provider with extensive experience providing end-to-end mission solutions from concept through operations and support. **What you’ll get to do?**
As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will support a team of engineers to define, develop, decompose, analyze, verify, and validate requirements for the ground segment of a satellite system. You will also support architecture design that stems from these system requirements, decomposed across multiple levels, aimed to represent the ground capabilities, that have a major impact on the mission. In this role, you will be interacting with the customer, subcontractors, Software, Hardware, Operations, Integration and Test, higher level systems engineering and integration teams, as well as program and project leadership to define and maintain the technical baseline. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to drive the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission, ensuring everything is synchronized.
**Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer:**
+ 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
+ Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
+ Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
+ Experience reviewing software code baselines and other technical documentation (particularly python, java, c++ as well as other object oriented and scripting languages)
+ Experience supporting requirement development/testing/verification
+ Experience working with Atlassian tool suite (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
+ Active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access or active SCI access
Salary Range: $125,800.00 - $188,600.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
