For detailed information on Benefits for this position, click here. Harborview Medical Center seeks talented professional in the position of ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant ("Healthcare Specialist") for Inpatient Neurosurgery.

Position currently open is for 90% FTE.

Shifts would primarily be evenings/nights; shift flexibility is available for this position.

Harborview Medical Center seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or certified Physician Assistant for the position of Health Care Specialist (HCS) on the acute neurosurgery unit.

The Healthcare Specialist for the Department of Neurological Surgery is responsible for comprehensive acute inpatient care, including neurosurgical and internal medicine management. The Healthcare Specialist cares for the neurologically injured patient in a dynamic, active, ever-changing environment at the regions only Level I Trauma Center. Work is performed in collaboration with attending physicians, neurosurgeons, residents and internal medicine hospitalists. This is a part time position; there is no call for this position and there are no surgical responsibilities.

The Department of Neurological Surgery at Harborview Medical Center provides patient care services for a broad range of neurological diseases and disorders at the four University of Washington affiliated hospitals in Seattle, Washington. The Department is also the primary referral center for patients with complex neurological conditions and neurological trauma in the five state WWAMI region, as well as the tertiary referral center for national and international patients. In addition, the Department has one of the premier academic training programs in the world and maintains an active, cutting-edge research program ranging from basic science and translational research to a broad array of clinical trials.

Nurse Practitioner:

Masters Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing

AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges

AND National certification as a Nurse Practitioner

AND ACLS certification

OR

Physician Assistant:

Licensure as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA).

Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.
