Job Summary


To provide excellent nursing care under the direction of Occupational Medicine Provider and/or Advanced Nurse Practitioner and maintain Employee Health Program


Essential Functions

+ Computer system for documentation


+ Responsible for oversight of employee health program for SoutheastHealth


+ Acts as a health consultant while maintaining confidential health files on each employee


+ Reports unusual results on health assessments to Employee Health Medical Director that would prevent the employee from performing the essential functions of their job.


+ Coordinates and maintains health records on all contract employees to include pre-screening and annual PPD/flu vaccination


+ Organizes the administrative aspects as well as service aspects of employee health for delivery of the organization health care needs


+ Assumes a leadership role to facilitate the collaboration of HealthWorks staff to efficiently deliver employee health for our organization and other business organizations in the community


+ Facilitates communication between occupational medicine and human resource departments regarding all aspects of Southeast Health employees’ needs, from pre-employment physicals to post hire testing. These tests include annual flu shots, tb tests, vaccinations, fit mask testing, hearing tests, worker’s comp etc, to assure employees have the medical requirements and services needed for the health and safety of our employees and the patients we treat.


+ Oversees all injuries or illnesses that may be work related to assure the employee has the appropriate follow up in medical care and the paperwork is completed appropriately to our third party administrator when applicable


+ Works effectively with infection control and quality management to assist in the identification of quality issues and assures the safety of our employees and the patients we treat when an event warrants treatment or review of incident


+ Serves on Environment of Care Committee and Infection Prevention Committee. Present monthly/quarterly statistics on all SoutheastHealth injuries/exposures


+ Maintain OSHA log and end of the year report on all Southeast Health employees.


+ Coordinates employee health screenings and vaccinations


+ Oversees the work injuries of SoutheastHealth employees


+ Administers random drug tests for our organization and other organizations in the quest of a drug/alcohol free work place


+ Exhibits behaviors and actions which create a high level of patient/ customer satisfaction, which contributes to positive patient/customer relations and which reflect respect for the patient's/customer's rights, needs and confidentiality


+ Demonstrates effective communication and human relation skills which promote harmony and teamwork


+ Functions without direct supervision, utilizing time constructively and organizing assignments for maximum productivity. Maintains acceptable standards in the areas of attendance, professionalism, and establishing harmonious working relationships


+ Exhibits flexibility, adapting readily to changes in the work environment or work schedule


+ Maintains strict confidentiality of PHI (Personal Health Information) following HIPAA policy and government regulation. Maintains strict confidentiality of employee information


+ Assumes responsibility for the safety of patient/customers and ensures all patient care is provided in accordance with Hospital and other regulatory requirements to include: JCAHO, OSHA, State, Federal, Infection Control, Patient Safety Goals etc.


+ Be readily available 24/7 for all department heads, house supervisors, ER department for all employee injuries, illnesses or exposure that may prevent employees from performing their job duties


+ Assist in the daily work assignments with Occupational Medicine Office to help provide continuity of care


+ Assists with oversight of other LPNs within the office


+ Assist Physiatry Services in nursing care when needed


+ The Occupational Health Nurse may also be trained to set up and assist the provider with: * Immunizations * PPD Skin Test and Interpretation * Lab Draws * EKG * Drug Screening * BAT Screening * Hearing Testing * Pulmonary Function Testing * Respiratory Mask Fit Testing * UA Capture and Dip Testing * Vision and Color Vision Screening


+ Any other duties as needed to drive to the Vision, fulfill the Mission, and abide by the Values of the organization


Qualifications


+ Bachelor's Degree required


+ LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure In the State of Missouri Upon Hire required


+ RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure In the State of Missouri Upon Hire required


+ Drug Screen/BAT training and maintain a certificaiton


+ EKG/lab phlebotomy/respiratory mask fit training
