As an Operations Process Engineer - Diffusion at Micron Technology, Inc. you will leverage understanding of how current process is affected by previous processing, and how current processing may affect subsequent processing and their impact to device performance.

You will need to identify and react appropriately to manufacturing efficiency losses related to managing SPC, GERM holds, throughput and RPT matching. Participate in multi-area focus teams in troubleshooting complex process problems and area improvements. Write concise process related ECN's, both simple and complex and include data to justify change when appropriate. Keep up to date on area changes, follow and improve reaction mechanisms and procedures for process control for OOS and OOC conditions, build knowledge to analyze metrology, RDA, inline, probe and/or param data to understand process issues and reaches appropriate conclusion based on data. Analyze common failures and reports data to internal customers, using software knowledge for data extraction, system parameters, and tool component manipulation. Leverage a basic understanding of equipment and process interactions. Identify process issues related to equipment performance in order to minimize excursions by taking appropriate actions, use systematic approach to identify root cause and resolve Long term down, (LTD) equipment. Compiling data, observations, and analysis to be used in creating action plans, improving best known methods, and sharing results with the team. Support Operational Throughput and Availability. Identify and manage hold, release and qualification plans where applicable. Manage execution of release and qualification plans for new parts, processes and equipment. Manage revision and continuing improvement of qual strategies to improve equipment availability. Assist in OOC reduction and reaction optimization efforts. Follow and support business processes for quality and yield deviations containing material, identifying and resolving root causes, reporting issue and resolution. Identify and follow up on actions required to prevent reoccurrences (CA/PA). Maintain compliance to SPC metrics such as CpK, VOP, Cpc. Identify the source of recurrent SPC issues and maintains an action plan for resolution. Monitor error rates. Implement solutions through root cause analysis. Work to ensure the highest quality through tool matching, data mining and yield/quality pareto analysis. Develop CA/PA for the top pareto items, revise and provide proper controls to guarantee product quality (Procedure/FD/OCAP). Develop process modifications to improve product quality through CIP programs. Ensure proper notification for any event, including near miss occurrences. Ensure all safety and environmental compliance-related work tasks are being completed in accordance to existing requirements (LOTO, audits, training, Job Hazard Analysis, use of proper PPE, evacuation procedures) and comply with all safety and environmental policies, where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Knowledge working with teams to troubleshoot and improve processes.

* Knowledge of updating procedures.

* Knowledge in Diffusion/LPCVD fundamentals.

* Knowledge analyzing data to understand process issues and drive to root cause.

* Knowledge with SPC methodologies.

* Knowledge in Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication.

* Knowledge in data collection and experiment execution.

* Must be willing to work a fixed night schedule and 12 hour rotating shifts.

* Knowledge of manufacturing environments.

* Knowledge in utilizing any data analysis programs.

* Knowledge in identifying and resolving defect-related issues from the process itself or from equipment-related problems or hardware.

* Must be willing to work around chemicals such as silane, dichlorosilane, boron and hydrofluoric acid.

* Knowledge documenting quality deviations.
