**The Role**

The Content Delivery Network (CDN) Operations Technician, under general supervision, is responsible for provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting and correcting configuration problems on the CenturyLink CDN. CenturyLink’s CDN provides an end-to-end content distribution capability for the rapidly changing world of content delivery.

**The Main Responsibilities**

• Provide technical customer support via phone, email, and chat by provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting and correcting configurations.

• Provide ongoing network maintenance and monitoring of systems operations hardware and software.

• Troubleshoot and manage Unix/Linux systems.

• Work with other teams on system escalations.

• Document procedures and processes related to system troubleshooting and maintenance.

• May participate in technical tool requirements reviews and development to provide feedback and refine systems and interfaces.

**What We Look For in a Candidate**


• Strong knowledge of HTTP, Caching, Streaming, Storage, and Security (SSL/TLS)

• Proficient understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and Web Delivery

• Tier II Unix/Linux server maintenance, deployments, builds, and upgrades

• Unix/Linux troubleshooting of hardware and systems processes

• Familiar with Apache, NGiNX, and other web servers

• Experience in web publishing environments and architectures

• Experience using one or more programming or scripting languages to work with data

• Strong ability to manage and prioritize individual transactional workload as part of a team supporting web solutions

• Experience building and maintaining relationships with customers, sales teams, and operations support teams

• Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities required

• Must be willing to work in a 24x7 environment, including weekends or holidays to support network operations


• Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
