Essential Duties

Job Overview:

The EEG Set Up Technician (EEGT) performs in-home diagnostic testing on patients, which generates reports forphysician interpretations. The EEG Technician measures by means of an electroencephalograph (EEG),impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain, to obtaindata for use in the diagnosis of brain disorders.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform EEG testing on patients in their home
  • Ensure all ordered procedures are completed in an organized, efficient manner
  • Effectively interact with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare workers
  • Work within the scope of the American Society of EEG Technology guidelines while ensuringcompliance with regulatory standards
  • Operate and store EEG equipment, take pertinent patient history on outpatients and inpatients, andintegrate all aspects of care for all age ranges including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult andgeriatric
  • Contribute best thinking to the company and assist in building best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

General Job Responsibilities

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalentis required
  • Registration through ABRET is preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year related medical experience

Qualifications:

  • Superior customer service skills with the ability to establish rapport
  • Must be able to travel up to 95%, drive to multiple locations as necessary, including out of state, remote areas and overnight travel
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal direct supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must react calmly in emergency situations
  • Able to make appropriate and timely decisions
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current driver license with valid insurance
  • Possess and maintain annual PPD test results
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) Program

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Able to stand, kneel and stoop
  • Frequent use of fingers and hands
  • Reaching with hands and arms
  • Talking and hearing
  • Clarity of vision both near and far
  • Ability to distinguish colors

Mental Requirements:

  • Data entry
  • Perform mathematical functions
  • Determine sequence of operations or actions

Work Environment:

  • Working in patients homes
