Job Description

Patient Services Coordinator III / 40 Hours / MGH Charlestown

The Patient ServicesCoordinator III functions as the team mentor/supportive
resource for the otherpatient services coordinators in the practice. The PSC
III is competent in all the duties and functions of the PSCrole, including but
not limited to managing telephone messages, schedulingpatients, check-in
/check-out, referrals management, and forms management. The PSC III
contributes to the efficient andeffective workflow of the PSC group through
teaching and empowering his/herpeers to enhance their skill sets and assists
with trouble shooting problems asthey arise in daily operations. The PSCIII
may provide functions of coaching, training, orientation and teaching ofthe
other PSC staff.

_Principal Duties_

Competently performs all duties andresponsibilities of a PSCI and PSCII,
including but not limited to managingtelephone messages, scheduling patients,
check-in/check-out, referralsmanagement, forms management, inventory
management, coordination of interpreterservices, cash control/payment
management, mail services,

Coordinates the scheduling of multipleappointments using multiple systems or
resources.

Addresses patient questions and concerns.Ensures Service Excellence.

Serves as Epic/Cadence Super User forPSC practice staff.

Possesses a thorough knowledge ofregistration and insurance issues.
Demonstrates competence in explaining insurance issues, ACO related
carerestrictions, and service issues to staff and patients.

Is present daily to support, coach andeducate PSC staff. Assists PSC staff
bytroubleshooting workflow issues and resolving patient barriers to care.

Meets regularly with Practice Managerto inform of PSC needs related to
coaching, training, orientation and teaching.

Participates in the orientation of newhires as designed by the Practice
Manager. May be asked to participate in theorientation of others, such as
students or volunteers in the practice.

Adheres to all hospital and HealthCenter policies and procedures.

Performs all other duties asassigned.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies

Proficiency as a Patient ServicesCoordinator II or demonstrated competence in
the related skills.

Demonstrated ability to organize andarticulate thoughts in a manner that the
receiver can apply.

Demonstrated ability to precept, mentor,teach and coach others.

Spanish language skills preferred

EDUCATION:

Associate degree in Secretarial Science/Business, or a Secretarial Training
Certificate Program required. Bachelors degree preferred.

Minimum of 2 years work experience in medical group practice, billing and/or
managed care setting required.

Attains Epic/Cadence Super User status within 3 months of hire.
