Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Principal Industrial Engineer/Principal Lean Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Palmdale, CA.
The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Palmdale. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for applicants that enjoy working with and learning from their peers and are not afraid to jump in and make a difference!
+ Solve problems related to product and information flow on the manufacturing floor and back office
+ Advance / perpetuate manufacturing techniques (Lean, 5S, AGILE, 5 Why, Ishikawa Diagrams, Standard Work, kaizen, Visual Management, etc.) as much as possible through teaching, demonstration, and general communication
+ Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
+ Critical evaluation of current manufacturing practices and identify those needing improvement
+ Based on outcomes from the studies, develop and implement plans and programs for throughput efficiency gain and/or facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
+ Define and document process designs (product routings).
+ Use and maintain models for standard work assignment.
+ Establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures.
+ Manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
+ Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of relevant experience in operations; **OR** a Master's degree and 3 years of experience will be considered
+ Technical experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
+ Proficient in MS Project, Visio, Excel & PowerPoint
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance
+ Experience training all levels and all functions of a manufacturing organization in continuous improvement / lean tools
+ MRP/MES experience
+ Professional experience in industrial engineering
+ Experience maintaining and developing SharePoint sites
+ Experience performing Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
+ Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and advanced factory simulation tools
Salary Range: $92,200.00 - $138,400.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
