Position Overview

The Principal Manager, Reporting and TechnicalAccounting, is responsible for the accuracy and consistency of financial reportingand for the strategic direction of all technical accounting efforts. The Principal Manager supervises the monthlyand quarterly earnings process, provides guidance, leadership, and draftingexpertise to the SEC reporting team, and leads the evaluation andimplementation of new accounting guidance. The Principal Manager explains accounting concepts and complextransactions to a variety of financial and non-financial audiences at alllevels including executive management, external auditors, and staff. The Principal Manager is also responsible fordeveloping accounting staff and supporting the development of knowledge acrossthe department.

TypicalResponsibilities:

* Draft and review SEC financial statements and disclosures, develop new disclosures

* Prepare and review monthly earnings package including comparative analysis and EPS calculations; work with Investor Relations on a quarterly basis to support public disclosures

* Prepare and review the cash flow statement

* Provide technical accounting expertise, position papers, and research to define appropriate accounting treatment

* Critically analyze agreements and transactions to ensure they meet intended business objectives

* Hire, develop, and retain top talent; develop accounting knowledge across the department

* Build strong partnerships with a variety of stakeholders including with Treasury, Operational Finance, Investor Relations, Energy Procurement, Internal Audit, and Tax

* Represent the company in industry organizations, serving as an accounting specialist

* Interpret and apply internal policies, SOX guidance, US GAAP and other regulations

Minimum Qualifications

* BS/BAin accounting, economics, business or related discipline

* CPArequired (active or inactive)

* Ten(10) years of work experience including management experience in an accountingrole

* Clearand concise written and verbal communications

Desired Qualifications

* Five (5) or more years in public accounting/Big 4 managing audits of public companies

* Expertisewith Regulation S-X and S-K

* Expertisewith SOX and internal controls

* 10to 15 years total work experience

* Previousexperience running an accounting policy team

* Previousexperience leading an SEC reporting team

* Experienceworking on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping todeadlines

* Experiencewith audits of 401k and benefit plans

* Experienceworking for an utility company applying regulatory accounting concepts
