Primary Responsibilities


Cabin Monuments and Integration is a Business Unit within the Interiors Division of Collins Aerospace. Lavatories, Water Solutions, Integration Engineering, Ice Protection Systems, and Specialty Heated Products Value Streams are part of the Cabin Monuments and Integration Business Unit. The Product Support Engineer is part of the Product Support team in the Interiors Service & Support Value Stream and supports the Cabin Monuments and Integration Business Unit.


The PSE primary responsibilities are as follows:


+ Technical focal responsible for identifying in-service issues, driving root cause investigations, and developing innovative and practical corrective actions in a timely manner.


+ Coordinate with program and engineering counterparts to ensure aftermarket requirements are considered in the development of design changes.


+ Initiate and navigate the approval cycle for Service Bulletins to implement design changes, inspect for field issues, or to address quality escapes in the field. Implement / support effective and cost conscious retrofit plans.


+ Management of product support requirements including tracking operational interruptions, component reliability, removals, repair development, spare asset availability, spare part sales, and warranty financials.


+ Work to effectively understand and resolve warranty disputes.


+ Drive improvement to Customer Scorecards, Key Performance Metrics, and Implement and Execute Standard Work.


+ Develop and maintain positive customer and supplier relationships through effective communication and by fostering a culture of trust and mutual respect.


+ Ensure Product Support Agreement compliance.


+ Support the development of maintenance management guidelines.


+ Provide technical support and training to the global network of repair stations / MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) centers.


+ Assist in developing standard work for the department and continue to drive improvements leveraging the CORE tools to help increase department efficiencies.


+ Attend customer conferences and provide detailed periodic project status updates to end users and internal stakeholders.


+ Adheres to all Collins rules and codes of conduct.


+ Performs other duties as required.


Basic Qualifications


+ Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience OR


+ Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR


+ In absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required


+ Experience working in the Aerospace Industry


+ Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to present information to all levels of management and customers.


+ High level of expertise in Microsoft Office Product, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


+ Able to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit


Preferred Qualifications


+ Technical knowledge of aircraft interiors and systems related to lavatories, water & waste systems, deicing systems, and heated composites.


+ Continuous Improvement experience with (CORE, ACE, Lean, or Six Sigma tools).


+ Experience defining, tracking, and documenting multi-disciplinary project tasks (schedule, resources, budget / cost).


+ Experience building and delivering technical presentations to internal and external customers. Understand how to craft messaging to specific audiences (executives, OEM partners, and airlines).


+ Strong understanding of the commercial implications of engineering changes, field issues, and investigations.


+ Knowledge of commercial aerospace industry and demonstrated airline interaction experience preferred.


+ Experienced using Teamcenter and/or Agile.


+ General knowledge of contracts and specification documents.
