Job Summary:

* The Production Supervisor supervises andcoordinates daily operation of the production shift, with responsibility forachieving maximum quality and cost effectiveness in an on-time and efficientmanner.

* He/ She actively participates in all areas ofemployment, performance evaluations, associate relations, and associatedevelopment while promoting total employee involvement.

Essential Job Functions:

* Ensure a safe work place is provided for allemployees; frequently inspects department for safety compliance. Completeaccident reports and schedules appropriate follow-up reviews; identifyaccidents related to operator/machine error and initiates necessary training toprevent future accidents.

* Supervise the activities of productionassociates to achieve objectives with regard to quality, cost and time.Evaluate the performance of associates and completes necessary reports.Recommend merit increases and training/development needs.

* Review daily and weekly shipping schedules andproduction capabilities to assure all deadlines are met. Check runningorders/query dispatch lists to determine schedule priorities. Coordinate andexpedite hot parts and assigns rework.

* Inspect and monitor production quality andequipment. Ensure quality procedures/practices are applied to the process,tooling, and equipment to achieve expected quality improvements.

* Supervise the utilization of materials to assurean appropriate amount of parts are available to maintain smooth productionflow; identify wasteful practices and methods; report any problems/concernswith viable solutions to the Manager, Production; and, report suggestionsrecommended by associates for procedure change, etc.

* Promote and support the company's efforts inassociate involvement concepts, and "open door" communicationsthrough the development and or implementation of various programs.

* Promote commitment to quality through attitude,behavior, communication, and development/implementation of programs andactivities.

* Communicate/update shift management of dailyproblems and concerns, identifying areas needing attention to ensure thecontinuity of the operation.

1 opening on each shift

* 1st shift - 6:00a-2:30p

* 2nd shift - 2:00p-10:30p

* 3rd shift - 10:00p-6:30a

Education, Experience & Skills:

* A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university is preferred.

* Previous work experience in Manufacturing isrequired

* Knowledge of computer programs such as Outlook,Excel, Word, etcand time accounting software-Kronos

* Strong verbal, written, and interpersonalcommunication skills.

* Ability to enhance a team environment, includingdevelopment of team-oriented leaders and members.

* Must possess clear thought process of definingproblems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusionsusing Lean/Operational Excellence/Operational Excellence methodologies.

* Assures employees are consistently being trainedand developed so that talent is retained and succession plans remove gaps inbench strength.

* Able to make timely decision in stressfulsituations.

* Demonstrated ability to work with all levels ofmanagement.

* Good understanding of consumer products, highvolume lean manufacturing, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.

* Understanding of General Manufacturing bestpractices, Fabrication operations and equipment are required.

* Exceptional leadership, motivational, andproject management skills with the ability to drive project-specific issues andgoals to closure.

* Ability to integrate business, manufacturing,and technical elements.
