We are currently seeking a Project Controller to join our Program, Project and Commercial Management (PPCM) team to work on various projects in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas including private sector, federal and state funded projects. The focus of this role is to provide strong commercial support to project managers, directors, and business administrators. Particularly in the areas of financial management of projects, general commercial support on projects, contract Administration, sub consultant Management, bid support, and scheduling.


In this role you will carry responsibility for delivery of project controls work under the direction of the Senior Project Controls/Project Commercial Manager. Responsibility will vary by project but when assigned will include:


1. Bid or proposal stage responsibilities such as:


+ Assisting in monitoring of bid preparation costs


+ Assisting in preparation of resource, invoicing, and cash flow forecasts


+ Assisting in preparation and submission of documents in accordance with bid guideline procedures for bid reviews


+ Assisting in the identification of business and contractual risks associated with new RFPs, contracts or any documents from Clients and/or suppliers


1. **Project delivery stage responsibilities such as:**


+ Utilizing the financial systems to assist the Senior Project Controls/Project Commercial Manager in reviewing and monitoring project financial results and other performance parameters


+ Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and provision of financial data for responding to queries on performance issues.


+ Assisting with monitoring resource costs against budgets


+ Assisting with updating project and job forecasts on a regular basis to ensure current and accurate reporting of performance


+ Assisting with monitoring and handling scope or schedule changes, maintaining change and risk registers, preparing fee proposals and contract change orders


+ Collaborating with the design team to track and compile engineering progress information to assist Earned Value analysis.


+ Assisting with preparation, issuing, and monitoring payment of monthly client invoices.


+ Assisting with management of Sub-contractors including tracking costs, reviewing invoices and monitoring payments.


+ Advising the Senior Project Controls/Project Commercial Manager of potential problems that could detrimentally affect the outcome of the project


+ Being familiar with all material financial and commercial issues on the project


+ Following Arup financial and commercial policies and procedures.


+ Maintaining and updating project schedules in P6 or MS Project


**Qualifications:**


+ Engineering Degree preferable but not required


+ Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word Skills


+ Basic or Advanced Knowledge of programming in P6 or Microsoft Project


+ Knowledge or willingness to learn skills of programming in PowerBI


+ Excellent communicator, written and verbal


+ Ability to work independently and within a team


+ Hard-working and motivated


+ Thinks creatively and is willing to challenge the status quo


+ Desire to establish a long-term career with Arup


+ Willing to travel for assignments when needed
