S t. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, affiliated with Catholic Health Services of Long Island, is located in Smithtown, NY on a beautiful 110-acre campus that includes a 290-bed community hospital, a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility, and a 60,000 sq ft medical office building. SCS is engaged with error reduction initiatives and on a journey to High Reliability. We have been recognized in superior care in stroke and sepsis patients and have also recently attained Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery and have also been designated as the only Baby Friendly hospital in Suffolk County.
DUTIES:Physician shall provide on-call emergent and urgent care to patients who present to the Hospital's Emergency Department or are otherwise referred to the Psychiatric Department for evaluation or treatment, in addition to providing follow up care to the designated or assigned inpatient psychiatric population. Physician shall provide follow-up care to the Hospital's inpatient population in the psychiatric unit. Such services shall include, but are not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, medication management and performance of procedures. Physician shall be responsible for preparing all records and reports which may be required concerning any psychiatric patient's treatment program. The Physician shall complete all forms and documents as may be required by Hospital. Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned, from time-to-time by the Chairman, Director of Psychiatry, and/or the CMO. Weekend on-call service will require Physician to be present at Hospital during the day hours to address admissions, consultations and rounding. Weekend calls involve rounding on approximately half of the total patients in the psychiatric units and other locations where psychiatric patients may be accommodated.
QUALIFICATIONS:Physician must be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry. Must hold a currently valid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of New York and current registration with the New York State Education Department. New Graduates are welcome!
