Public Communications Specialist, Senior (PEOC3T-20-0822-F):
Bowhead is seeking a Public Communications Specialist, Senior to support the Army Futures Command Communication Team in Fort Eustis, VA. The SR Public Communications Specialist is responsible for content creation, management and coordination of written articles, media releases, talking points and social media posts for a major U.S. Army program executive office client.
Responsibilities to include:
Perform Protocol responsibilities
Review and promote FCC articles
Coordinate ComRel events and activities with JBLE PAOs.
Develop Read Aheads
On-site leadership facilitation
Community Analysis / Relationship-building
A bachelors degree, and a minimum of ten (10) years experience managing government programs is required of which one (1) year must be supervisory.
Knowledge of communication principles, methods, practices and techniques to develop public affairs projects aimed at enhancing the understanding of groups or individuals opposed or indifferent to significant aspects of the agency.
Ability to communicate through journalistic writing, copy writing/editing and screenwriting.
Ability to prepare and/or edit written correspondence, ensuring proper use of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Candidate must have working knowledge of social media methodology and practices.
This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station less than 30% of the time.
Skilled in strategic engagement to work on a team supporting various Army communication campaigns and programs.
The ability to prepare and deliver briefings and status reports to senior leadership, consultative skill
Effective communication with a wide range of groups including internal and external customers and stakeholders
Experience in planning for and supporting activities and events (engagements, conferences, etc.), supporting both traditional and non-traditional media, development and use of exhibits and collateral materials (banner stands, posters, brochures, etc.).
Experience in corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, communication outreach and planning, to include event coordination, speech writing; and a knowledge of branding, media relations and social media.
Defense Information School (DINFOS) certified/trained in the Public Affairs Qualification Course preferred
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level (having an active Secret clearance is preferred). US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
