Job Description

The Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) is responsible for: planning, developing, coordinating and managing the QA/QC function of specific Federal/Commercial/Residential projects.

Essential Functions:

* Report directly to the Project Manager

* Inspect job sites daily for safety and quality conformance

* Generates and implements Project specific Quality Control Plans

* Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up inspections for each definable feature of work

* Verify and document materials compliance with specifications

* Insure proper handling and storage of materials

* Provide review and analytical review and comments on Project contract documents as well as bid document requirements for proposals.

* Stop work to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work

* Confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner

* Reject work which is deficient and direct, Superintendents and subcontractors to correct this deficient work

* Create, update, and maintain project specific quality control reports

* Complete and submit quality control and safety inspection reports

* Document all deficiencies and their corrections

* Prepare, implement, and document pre-final and Final Inspection/Acceptance procedures

* Keep and analyze a log of deficiencies and safety problems to identify any developing trends and determine corrective actions

* Review shop drawings and prepare submittals for conformance with project specifications

* Keep an accurate submittal register for each task order

* Insure that shop drawings, samples, submittals, designs and as-built drawings are properly prepared, checked and submitted

* Assemble and forward project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as-built drawings and warranties

* Insure all required tests are performed in compliance with the specifications

* Secure the services of a testing laboratory with required certifications

* Maintain the testing log and forward test reports to the Contracting Officer

* Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building system

* Conduct Weekly QC meetings with the superintendents

* Meet with the community designated representative to confirm the percentage of work completed

* Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors and the superintendents to discuss quality standards

* Perform duties and functions as required for the successful implementation of our quality control plan

* Must be comfortable with high intensity work environment.

* High attention to detail and quality workmanship.

* Coordinates, supervises, manages, on-site trades personnel and subcontractor work.

RequirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate the work requirements with various staff, design team, Owners and subcontractors.

* Ability to prioritize, organize and work well under stress and maintain deadlines.

* Ability to be flexible, and adapt to constant change.

* Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines.

* Exhibit an acceptable degree of self-confidence.

* Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations.

* Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with internal and external clients and co-workers.

* Must be comfortable with high intensity work environment.

* Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications.

* Proficiency in scheduling software - MS Projects preferred

* High attention to detail and quality workmanship.

* Coordinates, supervises, manages, on-site trades personnel and subcontractor work.

* Experience working on Federal projects required.

* Must be able to obtain access to Federal Installations.

* Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations for residential construction

* Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques

* Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry (Timberline, RMS/QCS, Microsoft Office, Prolog and other typical construction formats)

* Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations for residential construction

* Ability to speak with clarity and exercise good judgment

* Ability to work under pressure

Required Experience:

* B.S degree in Construction Management/ Engineering or related field.

* A minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory construction experience.

* A minimum of (15) years of general construction experience

* 30 hour OSHA 29 CFR 1926 certification required

* US Army Corps of Engineers QCM-C Certification.

* Current CPR/First Aid certifications required

* Experience working on projects ranging from $5M-$200M in a firm fixed price environment.

* Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry (Timberline, RMS/QCS, Microsoft Office, Prolog and other typical construction formats)

* Conflict resolution skills

* Personal attributes including honesty, dependability, loyalty, and integrity

* Experience with Government contracting a plus.
