As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will help transform our clients' data into tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes and collaborating on product development. Work with Best in Class open source and visual tools, along with the most flexible and scalable deployment options. Whether it's investigating patient trends or weather patterns, you will work to solve real world problems for the industries transforming how we live.

Your Role and Responsibilities

The ideal candidates will possess a scientific &technical background in Quantum computing or information that enables them to develop the advanced Quantum algorithm related to optimizations. The candidate will have the technical depth and 'hands-on' experience with quantum algorithms and develop a new type of Quantum algorithm to solve specific industry challenges.

As the ideal candidate, you will have familiarity with different quantum optimization approaches from near to fault-tolerant algorithms. You will also be an optimization trusted advisor to customers and internal teams; helping develop the quantum computing knowledge and skills of solutions architects, as well as the technical field community.

Also, the candidate should be able to communicate the difficult technical concept to key stakeholders such as scientists, engineering teams, and C-Level executives.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

+ PhD/Masters in CS related fields with strong knowledge in quantum computing

+ Experience in Quantum algorithm based optimization (e.g variational algo, universal algo & statistical approach)

+ Experience in Qiskit or other equivalent tools

+ 5+ years of data engineering and data science experience within specific industries

+ Demonstrated publication record

+ Familiarity with classical approaches for optimization, machine learning and linear algebra

+ Excellent ideation, facilitation and communications skills

+ Detail-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to take a leadership role when necessary

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

+ Strong candidates will have skills in some of the following areas

+ Quantum Information Theory

+ Quantum optimization

+ Experienced in delivering a commercial application

+ Proficiency in Python and/or C++ Familiarity with Qiskit and quantum concepts and principles

+ Familiarity with classical approaches for optimization

+ Experience with some aspect of high-performance computing use within an industry context
