Proactively influence Papa Murphys new store growth; by defining markets and trade areas, by networking across the real estate community and by actively supporting Papa Murphys and its Franchisees in locating and securing quality sites for new stores, possible relocations and supporting existing store renewals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Identify viable areas for Papa Murphy's continued growth through analysis of markets and trade areas, demographic data and trends, shopping patterns and competition.
Network with real estate brokers, leasing agents, landlords and developers to understand market and trade area dynamics and identify potential sites.
Educate new and existing Franchisees on the Papa Murphys real estate processes and the tools available for their use.
Serve as a real estate consultant to Franchisees throughout the site searching, lease renewal and acquisition process.
Assist Franchisees in obtaining real estate sites in highly visible and active areas, while balancing the impact on other Papa Murphy's stores.
Guide the Franchisees through the development of their Site Packages and drive the Package through the review/approval process.
Work closely with Franchisees to help them meet their store opening obligations.
Assist in real estate efforts of Company Stores as needed. Including lease renewals, store relocations and remodels.
Drive budgeted new store openings in assigned territory
Requirements Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance or related field

Experience: 5+ years of experience in commercial or corporate real estate, preferably in a multi-unit franchise environment

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: Real Estate License a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and understand building plan documents and match building requirements to site limitations and make recommendations as to the viability of constructing the building on a given site.
Experience in reading and interpreting market and demographic data and matching the site to the needs of the business.
Ability to evaluate potential ROI of a site based on the terms available for the given site (such as lease compared to purchase).
Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents and real estate contracts.
Knowledge of financial feasibility analysis models, basic understanding of P&L/balance sheet.
Proven success at deal-making in a growth environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) as well as Outlook.
Must be able to travel, by air and car, for business purposes as job entails travel more than 50% of the time
Located in, or willing to locate to, a major market that supports north central U.S., ideally Minneapolis.
