Indigo Ag is partnering with growers to produce, store and deliver high quality, identity-preserved grain to premium buyers across the U.S. Our logistics organization is responsible for ensuring our grain is moved on-time and any issues that arise are managed professionally and timely. The Indigo logistics teams top priority is to ensure a best-in-class experience for our growers, carrier partners and buyers while continuously seeking new solutions to address key pain points in the ag transportation industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and develops shipper and carrier enrollment process and delivery system improvements; sets enrollment and outreach strategy
    • Manage any issues that come up during transportation and enrollment
  • Create best-in class vendor experience for Indigo Transport
  • Partners with shippers to continuously seek new solutions to address their pain points
  • Partner with technology to implement new functionality to address pain points
  • Endures all Indigo Transport loads are moved on time and at a fair cost to shippers
  • Generates reports and present to senior Indigo leadership
  • Build a book of business lead dedicated/shared team members to build Indigo Transport supply and demand. Key delivery metrics include:
    • Revenue: total amount of payment processed for Transport
    • Supply: number of shippers that sign up with Indigo Transport
    • Demand: number of shippers enrolled for Transport and # of loads posted
    • Profit: profitability of Indigo Transport
  • Build best in class Transport operations: lead the team to design and develop robust process to ensure all loads are delivered properly. Constantly push for improved quality and efficiency in delivery operations. Key metrics include:
    • On time delivery rate
    • Delivery issue
    • Satisfaction rate of driver pick up site, and receiving site
  • Establish Transport community in target region manage regional contact book, develop targeting strategy, build relations with marketing channels and key opinion leaders to build Indigo presence. Key metrics include:
    • Indigo Transport brand presence as measured by NPS
    • Driver activities, events and satisfaction
  • Surface regional requirement and improve tech platform lead regional team to understand driver/shipper perspectives, and communicate desirable functions/adjustment to Transport lead, and tech team. Key metrics include:
    • Regional user activities on App daily active user, frequency of issue support, etc.
  • Understand regional Transport supply/demand and seasonality in order to formulate strategy, tactics, and programs necessary to meet quarterly goals and objectives
  • Develop, grow, and sustain a portfolio of qualified shippers

  • Ability to manage and coach a team of Transport Account Executives
    • Sales planning/management: able to leverage knowledge of a region to lead a team to develop plan to "hunt" drivers/loads
      • Coach sales team, monitor and push for performance
    • Function under stress: able to prioritize tasks and adapt into "Indigo pace"
      • Willing to try, fail and learn about how to penetrate a region
    • Business development: able to initialize meetings and formal partnership discussion with big carriers and shippers (in the future)
    • Lead team: able to lead team with both dedicated (transport AM) and shared resources (GCS, grower AM, ISA)
    • Familiar with tech/online MKT place: must believe that online broker will disrupt traditional transportation broker
      • Able to understand app/programming at high level, and communicate with tech team about needs/functions

Qualifications:

  • Agriculture/Transport Experience
  • 10 years of experience in Transport or related industry
  • Sales experience
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports preferred
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in business, or logistics/supply chain management
  • 5+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the transportation industry strongly preferred (5+ year experience in target region, with transportation or agriculture experience)
  • Operational logistics experience
  • Ag trucking / ag brokering experience is a plus
  • Strongly preferred if worked as transportation broker, or in transportation brokerage company
  • Demonstrates evidence of lean/six sigma/continuous improvement experience and quantifiable results
