Part-time RN position available supporting the PreOp and Post-Anesthesia Care Units (Recovery)

0.75 FTE; 60 ours per two weeks
Schedule consists of two 10 hour shifts and one 8 hour shift (start times are 5 or 5:30 with an occasional 9 am start time) in PreOp and two 10 hour shifts (start times are 6 am, 6:30 am, 7:30 am and 8:30 am) and one 12 hour shift (10:30 am -11:00 pm) in Recovery.

Call requirement is approximately four 12-hr shifts on weekends about every 16 weeks.
Weeknight call occurs approximately 3 times per year. One hour call response time is required.

The registered nurse (RN) focuses on the health and wellness of individuals, families and populations in collaboration with other health care professionals by incorporating evidence-based practice in the management of acute illness, chronic disease, disability, and end-of-life care. The RN utilizes the nursing process and aligns practice with organizational policies, professional nursing standards and regulatory practice acts.

Job Responsibilities

Assessment: Systematically and holistically assesses the patients physiological, emotional, sociocultural, spiritual, and financial status while considering lifestyle preferences and learning needs.
Planning: Collaborates with patients, families, and health care professionals to develop a patient-centered plan of care to promote health and optimize wellness.
Intervention: Provides competent and innovative patient care and education based on patient complexity, acuity, and nursing judgment within a culture of caring and safety.
Documentation: Documents nursing assessment, planning, interventions, implementation, and patient/family response.
Evaluation: Determines patient's progress toward achieving goal(s), and revises plan of care in collaboration with patient/family as needed.
Delegation and Supervision: The RN delegates, supervises and evaluates the effectiveness of tasks performed by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) who have the knowledge and skill to perform the task, taking into consideration the following:

policies and procedures

Leadership: Guides, directs and influences others by participating in activities such as:

Position Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Associate degree in
Nursing from an accredited college of nursing, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Registered nurses without a baccalaureate degree will be required to get a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE) within six years of hire date. Graduates from nursing programs which are not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, must have at least one year of recent RN experience from an applicable care setting.

Bachelor's degree in
Nursing from an accredited college of nursing, as recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
