FIRST & SECOND SHIFT /VARYING DAYS - PRN
JOB SUMMARY: Campus Nurses and Resident Care staff will act as a cohesive team to provide the physical, social and emotional assistance contributing to the well being of our residents. Each nurse will strive to provide the care and support needed for each resident as identified in their personal care plans. Must be able to plan, implement, evaluate, delegate and collaborate effectively. Must have critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities. Responsibilities include shared tasks in addition to the core duties of this position. The nurse must have strong communication skills and respect for confidentiality.
CORE DUTIES: Deliver quality care that meets the residents’ needs. First responder for emergency calls on campus. Provide clinical leadership for nursing staff to ensure the delivery of quality care that meets the residents’ needs. Maintains knowledge base of current standards of nursing practice. As assigned, assist with care plan responsibilities such as med passes, treatments, sick visits, etc. Works closely with DON and ADON with resident assessments, developing and reviewing resident care plans. Assist in planning and presenting wellness programs. Handle MD calls, pharmacy calls and communicating with resident family members. Use AOD and eSource (ROMP) to chart and document care and incidents that occur accurately and in a timely manner. Completes all other duties as assigned. This position is considered a “direct care” position, and thus is subject to the requirements outlined in the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Administrative Code, including the annual completion of 12 hours of targeted training.
