The Surgical Unit at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center is staffed by specially trained nurses to care for a variety of post-surgical patients, including total joint replacements and revisions, major abdominal and thoracic surgeries, and vascular procedures/surgeries. Patients are often a higher level of acuity due to their complex, unique surgical needs. Surgical consists of 27 private rooms and has 70 employees. An excellent nurse to patient ratio ensures that the patients receive compassionate and personalized care. Our team of surgeons collaborate with our in-house Hospitalists, as well as our multi-disciplinary team including physical & occupational therapists and wound care team, to provide the most comprehensive care for our patients.
Under the direction of the Department Manager and supervision of the Charge RN the successful candidate will be responsible for administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, contributing to the nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning implementation and evaluation.
Working as a RN in the Surgical Orthopedic unit you will be required to:
+ ADN with a commitment to obtain BSN within 2 years of employment
+ Active Nevada RN License or Interim Permit
+ Hold a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Providers certificate.
+ Epidural competency completion within 3 months.
