Registered Nurse (RN) Hyperbaric Department: 017515 - Wound Care Job Code: Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day shift Hours: 7:15am to 4:30pm, weekends required Job Details: - Licensure Required - 1-2 years experience is required Job summary: The HBO/WC RN is responsible for providing routine hyperbaric treatments, wound care, hyperbaric evaluations, transcutaneous oxygen monitoring and skin perfusion pressure procedures under the direction of the physician. Various types of patients are seen by this service, in accordance with accepted protocols. The HBO/WC RN will be responsible for providing care, completing care planning, education, and performing ordered wound care. The HBO/WC RN will oversee patient transports, equipment cleaning/disinfection and hyperbaric chamber operations. The HBO/WC RN collects data from patients, family, physician and clinical record along with records and reports pertinent data to the physician. HBO/WC RN will assess, interpret data and discriminate between normal and abnormal findings using critical thinking skills. HBO/WC RN will recognize and prevent environmental hazards to the patient and unit, utilizes equipment and material in a cost-effective manner and locate and utilize emergency equipment. HBO/WC RN shall complete unit duty obligations as assigned and recognize and respond immediately to emergency situations. All procedures and duties will be under the supervision of a physician. The HBO/WC RN shall meet clinical competencies as indicated on the skills validation checklist. The HBO/WC RN provides hands on expert care to patients. To effectively fulfill this position, candidate must meet the following requirements: Current, valid Florida RN license required Primary Source online verification required directly from State of Florida licensing database Graduate of accredited nursing school. Bachelor's Degree with a major in nursing, preferred Current acceptable CPR certification required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider OR American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer OR American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers; ACLS & PALS certification required Completion of basic wound care and HBO course 60 hour course Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse exam completed within 12 months of employment Familiar with operation of a Hyperbaric Chamber, TCOP2 monitoring Must possess excellent organizational and computer skills
