Orchard Street is a 12-family residential treatment program located in Leominster that serves women in recovery from substance use disorder and their children. This program aims to provide a safe, supportive recovery community that will promote a sense of empowerment, family healing, and life skills essential for women and their children to stabilize and lead drug free, productive lives. A team of staff provides on-site individual, group and family therapy as well as comprehensive children’s services and substance use disorder treatment to promote recovery.
The Residential Counselor works with clients to assist in activities of daily living and foster a sense of safety in the program. The Residential Counselor runs evidence-based groups, completes required paperwork, and carries a caseload of clients to facilitate the implementation of their treatment plans. A relief residential counselor can work 0-20 hours a week depending on the program’s need. In this flexible position, there are no set shifts, and staff are scheduled or called as needed to cover empty shifts. This gives you the opportunity to help others without the commitment
+ Maintain a caseload and complete required paperwork pertaining to caseload
+ Collaborate with providers regularly
+ Complete shift paperwork including daily logs, group logs, and documentation in the staff communication log
+ Provide crisis intervention
+ Facilitate groups
+ Administer medication
+ Provide structure and stability on each shift
+ Provide transportation as needed
+ Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
+ HSD/HiSet/GED required associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
+ Six months volunteer, intern or work experience in mental health, substance abuse or working with children or families
+ Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients in you own vehicle or a company vehicle
+ Desire to serve others required.
+ Candidate must be available evenings and weekends.
+ Must be able pass required trainings including Medication Administration Program (MAP), CPR and First Aid
+ Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and ability to contribute to team objectives required.

+ Must be able to pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Background Check) and a an DCF/CPS (Department of Families Adam Walsh/Child Protective Services background check)
