**Responsibilities**


We are seeking a Research Professor of Bioinformatics. Conducts original research in bioinformatics using next generation sequencing and/or other - omics methodologies that supports the organization's scientific research programs.


Has the ability to garner peer-reviewed, extramural support. Writes and has published peer-reviewed, original research.

**Qualifications**


**Minimum**


+ Doctorate – Ph D., M.D. or D.Sdegree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor


+ Ten years of experience following the Ph.D., M.D. or D.SC degree in a field related to current area of research


+ Proficient in computer skills


+ Mathematical, scientific, reasoning and oral and written communication expertise adequate to initiate independent work


+ Ability to conceive new/innovative ideas


+ Laboratory skills and techniques execution and development


**Preferred**


+ Postdoctoral training as a research fellow


+ Beyond minimum requirements, experience writing grant applications for support of own work and supervising more junior trainees


+ Proven ability to conceive new/innovative ideas or solutions using good logical and scientific problem solving skills


+ Must be able to communicate results in oral and written form acceptable to senior research staff
