Come join a friendly and diverse clinical team that provides quality care! Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a part-time (15 hrs/wk) residential counselor in Worcester.
Worcester Respite is a 3-bed DMH referred program. Respite clients reside on the unit for a set amount of time agreed upon by the treatment team and work towards their individualized treatment goals. Goals often include stabilization, housing, employment, and continued sobriety. Treatment team meetings are held with community providers, family and support systems, and Respite supervisors to assist individuals in meeting their treatment goals. Clients on the Respite program are encouraged to attend day programs, appointments in the community and to maintain daily structure.
The Residential Counselors will be expected to supervise and support clients in crisis, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques and a community-based approach to treatment

+ Demonstrated knowledge-base of specific service population, and relevant community resources.
+ Ability to coordinate appropriate consumer services.
+ Ability to effectively communicate with consumer, peers, and other professionals.
+ Timely and accurate documentation skills and able to write behaviorally stated treatment plans.
+ Performs duties using recovery oriented principles.
+ Maintain and comply with regulations for DMH, HUD, BSAS and DPH MAP certification.
+ Demonstrates person centered strength based communication and relationship with consumers.
+ Ability to observe, document, teach and respond to mental and physical health as well as other needs of consumers such as community living skills.
+ Schedule and transport consumers to and from appointments as required.
+ Complete Functional Assessments as needed.
+ Provide outreach to homeless DMH consumers in shelters as required. Re-evaluate consumer and make recommendations for referral to other appropriate services or programs.
+ Demonstrate an ability to develop respectful interpersonal relationships with consumers while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
+ Meet with landlord and other community supports that will provide information and help implement of service plans.
+ Identify and coordinating referrals to additional resources.
+ Assist consumers in obtaining financial entitlements
+ Maintain an assigned caseload.
+ Attend case management, dual diagnosis, substance abuse and other relevant training sessions, seminars or workshops to improve current knowledge.
+ Provide escort to appropriate community agencies when necessary.
+ Arrange for transportation when appropriate.
+ Assess consumer’s needs and develop service plan, utilizing appropriate program and community services.
+ May provide translation services when appropriate.
+ Attend program staff meetings, case conferences, and clinical team meetings.
+ Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
+ Perform other related job duties.
+ Grade 5: Residential Counselor I: HSD/GED or HiSet required; Associates degree preferred.
+ Grade 6: Residential Counselor II: Requires a Bachelor’s degree; preferably in the field of psychology or human service.
+ Previous experience working with consumers in the field of human services, mental illness or dual diagnosis.
+ Proven ability to work within team setting and to act as self-starter.

+ Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients in your own vehicle
