Position Description :
Aries is seeking a Technical Solutions Consultant to lead product demonstrations and be deeply involved in discussions with our prospects and customers offering expertise on Aries solutions that create enormous efficiencies by enhancing and streamline Publishers peer review and editorial workflows. This individual should be a self-starter possessing strong technical experience, who is comfortable leading discussions and providing product demonstrations of Aries SaaS solutions developed for scholarly publishers throughout the world. You must demonstrate a track record of success working in scholarly publishing or a similar environment supporting sales and interfacing extensively with customers and prospects. This role has a preference to be based at the Aries Systems headquarters in North Andover, MA or home0based in the UK.
The Solutions Consultant will contribute to achieving sales goals by training Aries sales staff on all products and participating actively in product and technical discussions with clients, answering questions on Aries solutions, having a deep understanding of the publishing editorial workflow and actively participating in a team-based sale process. Customers include scholarly publishers who publish the worlds leading peer-review scientific journals. Specific customer interaction points are with editorial staff, heads of journal publishing, product and production heads for large and small publishers across the globe.

The primary responsibility of a Solutions Consultant is to support established sales priorities working alongside the Client Engagement Managers to represent Aries solutions. Specific responsibilities include:
Providing product presentations to Aries customers and prospects, leading integration discussions, gathering customer requirements during meetings, and properly managing customer expectations.
Supporting requirements gathering and scope of use parameters either onsite or via web conference while working with the customer and sales team during the sales process.
Assisting with onboarding process of newly signed publishers working closely with Aries client services team.
Responding to customer questions and requests regarding product features, technical requirements, integration capabilities, security, privacy, and other data and product related questions.
Identifying opportunities to increase market share and growth by addressing the needs of our customers.
Providing customer and market feedback to internal teams to influence and impact product enhancements, features, and new product development.
Working closely with the global internal teams to provide product and technical expertise at conventions/trade shows and help increase the product understanding of the sales team through various training opportunities.
Training designated employees on Aries product
Sharing industry market knowledge and intelligence with management that is captured during customer meetings, trade shows and through key strategic (vendor) relationships.
Education and Skill Requirements - the following minimum requirements are essential:
Product (SaaS) demonstration experience
Scholarly publishing experience
Requirements gathering experience in support of SaaS solutions
Experience in working with, managing, and resolving customer problems and issues
Experience with Sales Force, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio preferred
Sales support and sale experience preferred
Global Travel to 25% - 50%
The position reports to the Director of Sales.
