    Position Overview:

    A 0.9 FTE School Psychologist position to work with students with disabilities at Woodcrest Spanish Immersion School, in grades K-4 and our Early Childhood Programs, birth to 5, at multiple locations: The District Services Center, Centerview Elementary School, Northpoint Elementary School, and Park Terrace Elementary School. This position requires the school psychologist be committed to providing services that are culturally competent and developmentally appropriate. The candidate must be knowledgeable in types of behavioral and academic interventions and evaluation instruments appropriate for students ages birth to 4th grade.

    • in the need to work in partnership with staff to continuously improve practices to enhance student and family engagement, creating the conditions for equity, excellence and student success; and
    • in personalizing learning for students, meeting academic, social, and emotional needs and aspirations so that each student feels valued and has a sense of belonging, leading to academic success.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Duties of this job include, but are not limited to
    • serve as a team member in the screening, and evaluating students to determine Special Education eligibility;
    • collaborates effectively as a member of the District's school psychology team;
    • conduct parent-staff conferences to interpret findings and give recommendations from evaluations;
    • provide professional advice and consultation to students, parents, staff and faculty on all matters related to psychological educational needs and services in the schools;
    • research and study the field of child growth and development in order to recognize the academic, social and emotional needs of children;
    • provide direct, short-term solution focused counseling services for students; and
    • performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Successful candidates will have this knowledge...
    • psychological educational testing, assessment technique, and practices;
    • child growth and development;
    • effective communication and collaboration skills;
    • federal, state, and district rules and regulations as they apply to school psychological services and the implementation of the IDEA; and
    • leadership practices and techniques.

    Successful candidates will have these skills...
    • researching, analyzing and interpreting data in order to apply it to implement new programs or policies;
    • compiling reports and other written documents; and
    • establishing rapport and collaboration with students, parents, faculty and staff.

    Licensing Requirements :
    • Ed.S. or Ph.D. degree in school psychology or related field.
    • Valid Minnesota License in School Psychology or eligible for license.
    • We will consider school psychologist interns.
