Job Description



The Raytheon SAS Hardware Electronics Center (HWEC) Test Automation Department is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and on-going factory support of test equipment supporting a wide range of products including Airborne Radar Programs, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems (ISRS) and Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) customers.

Our Forest Mississippi Test Automation section is currently seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including technical project management, mechanical design of test fixtures and panels, and the support of environmental stress and screening (ESS) equipment utilized in the factory. The candidate must be a self-starter and willing to take ownership of assignments. The candidate must also be able to prioritize actions and effectively communicate when assistance is required.

Required Skills:
  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and a BSME or equivalent
  • Mechanical design experience using a 3D modeling tool such as Creo
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems
Desired Skills:
  • Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) experience including tracking schedule, budget, and delegating tasks to team members
  • Experience in the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment including environmental test chambers and vibration systems
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification
  • Experience in prioritizing and completing several parallel efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive toward goals
  • Proven to work well in a teaming environment
  • Self-motivated - willing to engage customers, partners, and suppliers to achieve results
  • Currently DoD Secret clearance
Required Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (or other related degree, i.e. Aerospace Engineering)

Desired Education: Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons
