Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the worlds leading international law firms with almost 4000 lawyers and staff in 30 offices is seeking two Tax Paralegals reporting to the Director of Paralegal Services to help build our team. This position will reside in the Washington DC office and will be responsible for providing the highest level of client service in a broad range of tax, transactional, litigation and other regulatory matters.:


General litigation responsibilities including
o Cite checking in accordance with Tax Cite in addition to Bluebook rules;
o Conducting extensive legal and factual research;
o Proofreading and editing legal memoranda, tax management portfolios and other articles
Database management: data entry, coding, review, including:
Manage and oversee electronic data document collections from internal and external clients
Search and filter collected data per instructions
Recommend refinements to searches when appropriate
Analyze data as required using computer assisted review technologies
Communicate with data custodians and requesters as necessary
Collaborate with in house counsel, outside counsel, external vendors, and other internal IT groups

Assisting with discovery requests and productions including
Assisting with drafting, proofing, editing, and filing court briefing
Creating tables of authority and tables of contents for court briefing
Calendaring all events/deadlines with Calendaring Department
Assisting with pre-, daily, and post-trial travel, court, and vendor logistics
Witness preparation, direct examination, cross-examination binders
Assisting with drafting and finalizing stipulations
Daily trial attendance, exhibit logging/tracking
Assisting with prospective client research by reviewing SEC filings and M&A history


A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Position requires a minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience
The ability to handle the multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and highly-collaborative team environment
Proficiency with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel is required; working knowledge of filing agencies, Tax Court and state/federal filing requirements strongly desired.
Proficiency using legal research platforms, including, but not limited to, Westlaw, Lexis, Checkpoint.
Highly organized and service-oriented, with strong attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with IRS Audit & Appeals process, a plus.
