The Senior Principal Engineer will provide Quality Leadership for Infusion Pump New Product Development (NPD) and post market support team.  As the Product Quality Core Team lead for one or more Infusion Pump product/platforms this position will apply diversified knowledge of engineering and quality principles to ensure compliance to medical device regulations and continuously improve product performance. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and/or support team in execution of product development, change control, and post market support activities
  • Independently plans, schedules and leads cross-functional team in detailed phases of the Quality work in a project
  • Lead Product Quality Data Reviews (PQDRs) to monitor the performance of product in the field and proactively identify issues
  • Investigate product quality issues and determine root cause, gather and analyze data, and implement corrective actions to reduce or eliminate cause
  • Identifies and manages continuous improvement projects with the objective of achieving quality, reliability and cost improvements
  • Serves as a coach, trainer supports development of more junior associates


  • Completely proficient in medical device product development design control processes
  • Must have experience or advanced training and demonstrate proficiency (e.g. statistical methods, quality tools, root cause analysis / resolution, risk analysis, SPC, MSA, and design of experiments)
  • Demonstrated Critical Thinking skills with focus on improved performance outcomes and positive business impact
  • Strong problem solving, technical writing, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Successful track record of leading large or complex projects and diverse teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education and Experience: 

  • B.S. degree in Engineering
  • 8 or more years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated success in delivering results on several technical/product/Quality challenges
  • Product development experience with electromechanical products, preferred
