## Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Radar Systems Engineer to contribute in evolving radar concepts and algorithms to provide the very best missile defense capabilities to our Nation's Warfighters. Our solutions are grounded in a deep understanding of the problem space including radar phenomenology, state-of-the-art technologies and the associated uncertainties and performance drivers.

Senior technical contributor to a highly capable, purposeful and collaborative team in algorithm research and development and modeling, simulation and analysis in a high performance computing environment. Subject matter includes radar detection and state estimation in challenging tracking environments, resource optimization, surveillance strategies, waveform development and optimization, feature extraction and classification, adaptive phased array and other radar technology and advanced analysis areas.


1. Lead analysis to understand capabilities and limitations of radar systems under highly variable operational conditions.

2 Lead research and development of realizable and affordable solutions to gaps and opportunities identified through modeling, simulation and analysis.

3. Provide insightful documentation on analysis findings and new concepts.

4. Provide technical mentorship to team members.

5. Interact with sponsors to understand program priorities and to share analysis findings and introduce new concepts.

6. Collaborate with prime contractors, technical representatives from other weapon system elements and FFRDC and UARC staff on end-to-end system integration.

## Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:** BS in EE, Math, Physics, Systems Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years’ experience in radar systems engineering and analysis, and modeling and simulation. Strong knowledge of detection and estimation and advanced signal and data processing algorithms. Strong Matlab (or equivalent) skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborating in a team environment. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

**Desired Qualifications:**

MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering with strong radar background. Demonstrated success in development of radar signal and data processing algorithms for fielded defense radars. Experience developing and employing high fidelity simulations for radar performance analysis, particularly in missile defense.

**Special Working Conditions:**

Occasional travel to sponsor, contractor, test site and peer organization facilities for meetings and reviews.
