Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a **Technical Editor and Writer / Principal Technical Editor and Writer.** This position will be located in **Roy, Utah** and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.


**What You’ll Get To Do:**


Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:


+ The position includes authoring and/or editing technical documents such as Air Force technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.


+ Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to Air Force technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.


+ Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.


+ Conducts quality review of materials.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.


**You’ll Bring These Qualifications:**


_This position may be filled at multiple levels depending on candidate experience and education._


+ **Technical Editor and Writer level:** 3 Years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree; 1 Years with Masters. In lieu of degree, additional years of experience may be considered.


+ **Principal Technical Editor and Writer level:** 6 Years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree; 4 Years with Masters. In lieu of degree, additional years of experience may be considered.


+ Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 5 years.


+ US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).


+ Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents.


+ Experienced with Atlassian Confluence, Jira.


**These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:**


+ Proficient in the interpretation of engineering data such as parts list, application list, notes list and print reading.


+ Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework – SAFe for Lean Enterprises.


+ Experience with secure software development practices and tools (i.e. Fortify, SonarQube)


+ Active Top Secret security clearance with adjudication in the last 6 years.


+ Must have demonstrated knowledge of file configuration management, strong writing and editing skills, including ability to manipulate usage and grammar.


+ Knowledge of Air Force Technical Orders, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Suite.


+ Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.


+ Knowledge of DoD industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.

Salary Range: $53,500.00 - $80,300.00Salary Range 2: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
