Qualified candidates must have experience troubleshooting and programming CCTV, Access Control, and Burglar alarms. Fire alarm experience is a plus.
Protection One/ADT works with the following security equipment manufacturers: DMP, Honeywell/Ademco, Bosch, ProWatch, Hikvision, and Avigilon. Prior experience and/or certifications with any of the above equipment are a big plus.
Technicians should also have the ability to work efficiently on their own with limited to no supervision. Protection One has a Tech Portal for their technicians to look up and resolve issues.
The technician will need a smart phone or tablet with internet access as all service calls and job details will be sent to their phone via a special application that will be downloaded to their device. The majority of the jobs arrive in the evening and the dispatch team will push them out to the individual's phone. The technician should anticipate going into the office every day to every 2 days to stock up for the day's work.
Submit accurate and timely documentation to your immediate supervisor (Billing reports, Data entry information, Time cards).
Attend Classroom and Field Training as required.
Maintain the appropriate Truck Stock Supplies/Tools/Equipment.
Maintain the appropriate basic hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
Service technicians are responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a wide array of security equipment (CCTV, Access Control, Burglar Alarms, Fire Alarms).
Service technicians resolve a wide variety of issues for their customer's security equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, re-programming security panels, changing sensors or batteries, repairing damaged low-voltage wires/cables, locating faulty ground faults, repairing mag locks and strikes, re-focusing CCTV equipment, networking IP devices (Setting up IP addresses/subnet masks, port forwarding) etc.
Service technicians are also responsible for conducting site surveys at customer sites, interacting with customers, and keeping their inventory organized.
Perform New System Installations, System Upgrades, and New System Additions.
Perform Customer Instruction on System Operation and Functionality.
Perform System testing and Signal Verification
