Job Description

Capstone Corporation is currently seeking a Principal SharePoint Developer in Portsmouth, Virginia. This role will act as a developer for the Client Solutions team in support of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard’s Network/Telecommunications Branch of the Chief Information Office.

The SharePoint Developer will collaborate with multiple business areas to identify SharePoint solutions that can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the shipyard. The SharePoint Developer will be responsible for analyzing and customizing SharePoint system based on business requirements, designing and developing SharePoint applications, and troubleshooting.

The SharePoint Developer is responsible for analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of web-based applications utilizing Microsoft SharePoint Framework. Work in conjunction with other SharePoint Team members to develop the right solution for a given problem. Provide support to team and customers on SharePoint issues and problems finding solutions to enhance business activity and customizing sites.

+ Develops custom web parts as needed to support the NNSY SharePoint 2016 environment.

+ Extends SharePoint functionality with forms, web parts and application technologies.

+ Gathers requirements and implements technical solutions that satisfy those requirements.

+ Designs, develops, and deploys enterprise applications, products and associated modules within an object-oriented architecture.

Translates application requirements into an object-oriented business model.

+ Architects and designs web-based applications for integration with other enterprise applications.

+ Provides functional and technical troubleshooting and support for SharePoint solutions.

+ Maintains existing databases and design, structure, and maintain additional databases as required to support new applications.

Coordinate, build, configure, patch, and upgrade databases as required in accordance with Security Technical Information Guidance (STIG).

+ Maintains documentation related to design, development, testing, and implementation of the database systems (including details on customization and/or configuration, codes, scripts, and in support of Certification and Accreditation requirements).

Minimum education and experience:

+ Associate's degree in a technical field, OR two (2) years of equivalent, relevant experience can be substituted for degree.

+ Minimum Five (5) years of experience related to job responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Must be able to gather requirements, design, test, implement, and maintain SharePoint sites and pages, workflows, web parts, and web sites.

+ Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to maximize the benefit of web- based technology solutions.

+ Experience with SharePoint Web Services.

+ Experience with SharePoint Site Structure.

+ Knowledge of features such as Custom Workflows, Services and Excel Services.

+ Familiarity with layout frameworks such as Bootstrap 3.x and beyond.

+ Experience with software development in one or more of the following: C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, JQuery, JSON, Angular, and React.


+ Qualifying 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II (e.g. CompTIA Security+).


+ Final Secret clearance with SSBI.
