About the Position:

Centralized Services, Snr. Analyst, is responsible for performing the revenue accounting functions by reviewing, verifying and reconciling accounts. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for supporting the review of the reconciliation function, including review of those accounts in scope for the Reconciliation & Governance team, as indicated by the Governance team. Captures accounting transactions using financial systems. Responsible for identifying and remediating accounting discrepancies to produce accurate and credible financial information.

Reports to the Manager, Distribution Revenue Accounting/ Manager of Reconciliation & Governance and is accountable for producing accurate and credible accounting results for.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

* Verifies, reconciles and updates accounts by reviewing discrepancies to produce accurate and credible data for Revenue.

* Prepares, records and processes accounting transactions and ensures allocation to appropriate accounts for accurate and credible data.

* Records and reconciles non-distribution revenue and A/R for areas such as Transmission, Real Estate, physical gas and commodity.

* Supports the close sub-ledger revenue systems, month-end accounting close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete accrual of financial transactions.

* Responsible for completing month-end accounting activities to ensure timely filing and account for any variances.

* Reviews accounts and calculate financial adjustments and ensure proper account reconciliation.

* Reviews processes and governance guidelines and ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC and IFRS requirements.

* Responsible for supporting the review of reconciliation transactions and ensuring proper compliance of internal controls.

* Maintains alignment on governance processes and provides data and feedback to Controls and Process Excellence to maintain alignment.

* Participates in pre-close meetings to ensure timely close processes and identify any pending transactions and reconcile prior to close.

* Responsible for following US GAAP and other accounting standards.

* Assembles and reviews supporting documentation to ensure compliance with audits.

* Compiles and reviews financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.

* Ensures maintenance of financial records for compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

* Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines.

* Identifies risks and issues concerning reconciliation or accrual processes and assists in developing remediation plans.

* Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

* General accounting

* Revenue accounting

* Utility industry accounting

* Reconciliation Process

* Data Collection

* Process centric operations

* US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and IFRS

* Process management

* Month-end close processes

* Risk mitigation

Qualifications Required:

* Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting roles with increasing responsibility

* Knowledge of general ledger platforms and accounting system experience

* Experience in Revenue accounting or related specialized accounting discipline and Reconciliation process

* Experience working across department and geographic boundaries to lead risk mitigation, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and the COSO Internal Control Integrated Framework

* Background in utility service business activities and projects

* Experience reviewing and resolving data discrepancies

* Able to assess accounting issues and recommend solutions

* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

* Excellent written / oral communication skills, follow-up, and negotiation skills

* Ability to build and develop teams of multi-skilled financial professional

* Ability to work cross-functionally on finance processes
