EverQuote (Nasdaq: EVER) makes insurance shopping easy, efficient and personal, saving consumers and insurance providers time and money. We operate the largest online marketplace for insurance shopping in the United States. Our goal is to reshape insurance shopping for consumers and improve the way insurance providers attract and connect with customers as insurance shopping continues to shift online.

EverQuote is seeking Software Engineers to work on our Traffic Engineering and Routing teams. Engineers will be involved with all stages of the engineering and development process, including data analysis, data mining, model development, implementation, and integration. This role will afford the right individuals opportunities to work on challenging and interesting problems involving large and complex data sets, high-volume traffic, and near-real-time feedback. Our production systems are built with Java, Python and MySQL on Linux platforms.

Traffic team -

On our Traffic Engineering team, Software Engineers are responsible for ensuring that our traffic teams have the analytics, automation, campaign tools and infrastructure to efficiently drive Internet traffic to our web properties. If you love to code algorithms, are good at math and statistics, and want to work with large quantitative data sets in order to draw conclusions, this role is for you!

Our Traffic Engineering team implements machine learning and decision support systems that find opportunities and truth in data. They build feeds to ingest data from our traffic partners, internal systems, and our analysts. Qualified candidates will work independently on developing new features for Python-based machine learning, bidding, reporting and campaign management systems as well as modifying existing systems as needed.

Routing team -

On our Routing team, Quantitative Software Engineers are responsible for building and optimizing routing models, which optimally align our consumer with service providers. In this role, you will maintain and leverage existing routing platforms, infrastructure and models to improve consumer alignment performance, while also designing and implementing new and more effective models to ensure optimal performance

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, engineering, or other technical major, OR demonstrated analytical and technical ability from a top college

* Entrepreneurial mindset and sense of urgency and accountability

* Structured programming skills and hands-on, deep knowledge of Python or Java

* Understanding of statistics and basic data analysis skills

* Experience with SQL queries and knowledge of database structure (experience in MySQL preferred but not required)

* Interest in online business and learning how to make money online

* Team player mentality and the ability and desire to collaborate effectively
