Job Description


Bowhead seeks a Software Engineer to join our Orlando, Florida team of software developers and media artists in the development and deployment of C++ and Unity visual simulation applications for the U S Navy.

Essential functions of the Software Engineer include, but are not limited to:

* Conducts programming activities using C++ and C# Unity scripts related to the development, maintenance, and/or installation of computer programs to internal, client, and/or commercial application systems.

* Conducts analysis, designs products, and programs computer software.

Requirements B.S. in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.

* Two to four (2-4) years coding/debugging experience with C++ and C#.


* Experience developing Win32 C++ applications with Visual Studio C++

* Experience developing Unity 3D applications with C#

* Collaborative software development experience with source control tools (e.g. Perforce, CSV, SVN, Git)

* Experience debugging computer software using interactive debugger (Visual Studio) and defect tracking software (e.g., Bugzilla, Jira)

* Experience developing cross-platform software using QT/JavaScript

* Experience participating in code reviews

Successful candidate will possess the ability to:

* Communicate clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing (in English) and understand both oral and written instructions (in English).

* Network and prioritize customer service to establish/maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external customers (to include government officials, corporate officials, and employees).

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Work is performed at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Orlando, Florida (a secure facility). Secret clearance and US Citizenship is a requirement for this location.
