Position Overview

Asa Sourcing Manager/Technical Purchasing Advisor for Southern California Edisonyou will be supporting, developing and executing category and sourcing strategiesfor the Indirect Procurement group within Supply Management. The IndirectProcurement group manages over $1.2 billion in annual spend for InformationTechnology, Customer Service, Professional Services, and Consulting Services. It'schallenging but rewarding work. Yourinterpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills will be fully exercised asyou manage a variety of strategies that focus on value creation, cost savings,continuous improvement, and risk mitigation. You will be responsible forsupporting and maintaining data analytics pertaining to the development andoptimization of category strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. As a SourcingManager/Technical Purchasing Advisor you will be the lead for business unitengagement to collaboratively plan and implement procurement strategies thatsupport short and long term business needs. You will also have responsibility forcompetitive solicitation, supplier selection, achievement of applicable KeyPerformance Indicators (KPI's), contract negotiation and development.

Typicalresponsibilities include:

* Lead,contracting and procurement functions of the Indirect Procurement organizationand special projects

* OwnOU relationships at senior and executive levels within assigned businessunit(s) and leads portfolio reviews with business unit leadership tocollaboratively plan and execute effective strategic sourcing strategies.

* Managethe execution of programs or contracts that have financial impact and may crossorganizational lines.

* Negotiatecontractual terms and other related commercial items to ensure Edison receivesthe best value possible while mitigating potential risk factors.

* Maintainconsistent interaction with suppliers and ensures adherence to establishedcontracts.

* Integratework across relevant areas, developing strategies to enhance productivity,manage information and provide exceptional service to internal and externalstakeholders.

* Assesswork activities for consolidation opportunities.

* Assessbest work practices and technological fit Performs analysis supporting theresolution of risk issues and gap identification.

* Developmetrics to monitor area of responsibility, gaps and implementing action plansto remediate

* Develop,implement and execute change management strategies.

* ExecutesPurchase Orders, Change Orders, and Request for Proposals across variouscategories.

* Leadcontract management and supplier dispute resolution.

* Performother duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Seven years of experience in supply chain or contract management.

* Five years of experience negotiating contracts and/or end-user licensing agreements.

DesiredQualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

* Master's Degree (MA, MS, MBA).

* Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

* Experience with complex and back-office services contracts.

* Ability to present recommendations and other communications regularly to all levels of the organization.

* Experience of Supply Chain processes and supporting activities.

* Experience of purchasing practices and policies.

* Experience of procurement contracts and standard terms and conditions.

* Make decisions relating to various supply chain activities on a daily basis in office and field locations.

* Experience with Ariba and SAP.

* Execute projects to completion on an independent basis.

* Work effectively within a team environment.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, formal correspondence and contractual documentation, group facilitation, and negotiations.
