The Special Education Aide will assist the teaching staff to ensure the effective implementation of the individual education and behavioral plans of a student.
+ Assist students with developing academic knowledge and a set of tools and techniques to assist them to restore and develop the ability to live independently, socialize and use effective life management skills.
+ The Special Education Aide will assist the teaching staff to ensure the effective implementation of the individual education and behavioral plans of a student. Additional components of this position will include:
+ Assisting the teacher in their daily lesson plans
+ Implement and monitor behavior and academic needs of the student
+ Maintain written and electronic documentation
+ Directly supervise assigned students in and outside of the classroom during the school day
+ Clearances. State Police; FBI clearance; child abuse clearance; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training; any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.
+ Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
+ Physical Demands. This position requires a moderate to high level of physical activity. Employee must meet minimum requirements for Hearing, Speech and Vision. Hearing not applicable for the School for the Deaf.
+ Environment. School and community.
+ Working Hours. As assigned.
+ High School or better
+ 1 year: Working with children.
