Job Description

We are looking for an intellectually curious leader to own Web Analytics at Fanatics. The Senior Manager, Web Analytics will be responsible for leading a team of analysts dedicated to using various data sources, including Web Analytics, to influence business decision making, improve the customer experience, and increase conversion. The successful candidate will also lead experimentation analytics, responsible for communicating the outcome of an experiment, telling the story behind the data, and recommending iterative experiments that drive additional growth. This role will serve as the Web Analytics subject matter expert and provide the vision that drives future analytics development and enhancements.
  • Serve as the Web Analytics subject matter expert within Fanatics, owning and enhancing existing Web Analytics strategies, tactics and tools
    • Exhibit the vision and leadership to identify and remediate analytics blind spots
    • Serve as the owner of the Adobe analytics suite, interfacing with other analytics practitioners within the company on the business and technology teams, and owning the external relationship with Adobe
  • Lead comprehensive analysis of experiments to uncover changes in metrics, identify shifts in user behavior and effectively communicate the story behind test data
    • Automate data collection for all experiments including primary and secondary KPI, segmentation, profitability, statistical validity, etc.
    • Create efficient analysis methodologies for investigating deltas uncovered from initial experiment templates and incorporate those enhancements into automated solutions as appropriate
    • Proactively identify test-specific data capture required to enhance existing data points that will serve as secondary metrics and may inform future test iterations
    • Incorporate statistical methodologies for test evaluation to enhance current capabilities such as bootstrapping, Bayesian statistics, target shuffling, etc.
    • Utilize quantitative and qualitative storytelling to communicate results to internal stakeholders ranging from managers to executives with clear recommendations
    • Develop modeling techniques to assess potential test impacts to prioritize experimentation roadmap
    • Ask "why" questions about experiments and answer them, as long as the return on effort is positive
  • Build forward-facing Web Analytics capabilities in conjunction with technical teams that execute on our analytics vision and requirements for new analytics features and tools
    • Develop highly automated solutions that leverage multiple, large data sets
    • Apply statistical anomaly detection to highlight variance in key metrics for further investigation
    • Create visualizations that improve ability to quickly analyze data and communicate findings to an executive audience
  • Drive structured and adhoc analysis to inform stakeholders, provide business recommendations, optimize the customer experience and populate experimentation roadmap
  • Lead, manage and grow existing Web Analytics team
This role has supervisory responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree required along with practical, applied business experience in data analysis. MBA or graduate degree in Statistics, Math, Economics, or Marketing Analytics preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in data and business analytics, with domain knowledge in digital marketing and statistics
  • 2+ years leading high-performing analytics teams including direct people management
  • Expert proficiency with Web Analytics tools (Adobe Analytics) and SQL
  • Proficiency with industry standard analytics tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, Splunk, R, Python, etc.) and experience with optimization platforms (Adobe Target, Optimizely, SiteSpect, etc.)
  • Proven track record of leveraging data to influence business decision making
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Talent for communicating technical or detailed information effectively and succinctly to nontechnical audiences
