Job Description

Working as a Network Engineer within the Teletrac Navman Global Operations Team and providing networking and system administration for on premise data centers, cloud infrastructure (AWS) worldwide. We are looking for the best of the best technically gifted engineers who want to challenge themselves in a fast moving yet disciplined environment.

As part of the Teletrac Navman Global Operations Team this position is also required to providing full application, infrastructure and network support for our SAAS installations worldwide. With some 220,000-vehicle connections across 13 geographical areas, this is a great opportunity for those who enjoy challenge themselves.

The ideal engineer is someone strong in supporting Cisco routers and switches, LAN/WAN, VPN and enterprise firewalls. Strong in AWS Networking. You will also manage APN/IPsec connections from numerous Telcos worldwide and Datacenter network projects at our office in Garden Grove.

Position Objectives

* Monitor network environment for anomalies and errors, reporting and escalation of issues.

* Provide the required daily support, maintenance, and management of the platforms.

* Provide Level II/III network support and repair, as well as escalation to the Management Team.

* Provide 24x7 On-call Escalation Support (rotation-based with other admins / full week support)

* Author internal documentation, such as environment diagrams, installation/configuration and release notes

* Troubleshoot and debug problems found in the production and non-production environments not only in a network engineering capacity, i.e., you will also troubleshoot application and services.

* Assist in managing the systems in a racked data center environment

* Monitor and troubleshoot any problems within the network.

* Create network plans, document the existing network, and communicate with business partners to establish connectivity.

* Negotiate with technical solution providers and vendors to provide recommendations on equipment purchases and upgrades to the existing network infrastructure.

* Help ensure that the organization's network infrastructure complies with the security standards and best practices.

* Configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)

* Configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 networking (VLANS, Spanning-Tree)

* ensure High Availability, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery

* Perform other duties as needed

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience

* 5 years' experience in Network Engineering & Support for large enterprises, preferably with Cisco, Juniper, F5, HP Blade Networking and Amazon Cloud. Ideal experience:

* 3-5 years of experience with Cisco switching and routing, IPSEC/SSL VPNs, Cisco Routing and Switching, BGP, EIGRP, ASA's, OpenVPN, and Load Balancing (F5)

* 2 years' hands on experience in AWS Cloud Services. VPC, Security Groups, Route53. ELB

* 3 years of experience with technology infrastructure teams

* CCNP Required, CCIE a plus

* HP Blade Networking a plus

* Storage Networking experience, ISCSI & FibreChannel a plus

* Understanding of Virtualization technologies (VMWare & Hyper-V) also a plus

* Working knowledge of System Monitoring tools: Nagios, DataDog, Splunk a plus

* Very organized & detail oriented

* Advanced troubleshooting, technically minded problem solver, & root cause analysis skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

* Strong project management skills

* Willingness to take ownership and achieve a good outcome for all stakeholders through effective collaboration

* Effective team player/leader who is able to develop a positive culture, championing a team environment and drive for results
