The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role - Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll - Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable - Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management - In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts - Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls under SOX while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP - Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks - Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation - Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions - Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting - Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision - Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries - Partake in various department-wide initiatives Robert Half Finance & Accounting, the world's leader in specialized financial staffing, provides exciting full-time opportunities in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more.
